2012 spring/summer trends
Spring/summer collections are finally arrived! The new season will bring colours, textures and motifs! It’s in an optimistic season that we will see a woman who’s elegant and seductive, in touch with fantasy and reality, expressing her joyfulness, her radiance, her dreaminess and her sweet tooth. First of all, those of you who can’t get enough of pastels will be well served because this summer you will see them everywhere when trying to mix colourful tops with flowing skirts. Your jewellery box will be overflowing with rings that look good enough to eat, ribbons, geometric cuffs as well as multi-coloured bracelets in mixed materials. This summer, you will also be able to let out your inner sophisticated siren because there is going to be a lot of shells and iridescent accessories. So gorgeous coral, mother of pearl, cultured pearls and starfish are welcomed! For those who preferred to stay grounded, you will be very pleased with clothes and jewels with floral print. The latter are decorated with enamel, paper, patent leather, crochet, diamanté crystals, resin and porcelain. At last, those who preferred to keep their style simple but chic will be able to have splendid sculptural chokers embellished by rough gemstones, pewter, wood, leather, horn and lace.

Now that you are aware that silver is a soft metal you might better understand why you lost your earrings so easily, even when they are excellent quality. Every time you put them on the thinnest parts, usually at the clasp, lose their shapes, little by little every day and then they are not tight and firm to play their functions. To get back to first day “butterfly” firmness or to have the back pin of your hoops to be tight in the small back fork where it clasp into, you have to work a little....

Few weeks ago, we published an article on Canadian fashion trends for Fall-Winter 2010-2011. As you know, Éfémer remains on the look-out for new fashion discoveries and announcements. Early September we were in Paris, France, during the « Fashion Week » where many shows and activities take place around fashion.

Amethyst: February Birthstone
The birthstone for February is amethyst. Amethyst is a variety of crystallised quartz that occurs in colours ranging from deep purple to pale lavender. (Now, a bit of science!) The presence of manganese in clear quartz produces amethyst, while the amount of iron content varies the strength of the purple colouration. One thing you’ll love about amethyst is its hardness! It has a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale. That’s certainly a plus factor! Amethyst is thought to bestow stability, strength, and peace and to relieve stress.
